Rockstar Games confirmed via Twitter that European gamers who preordered GTA V on PlayStation Network will be able to pre-load the game as of 3 p.m. British Summer Time on Sunday, Sept. 15. North American PSN users can begin that download at 3 a.m. EDT on Monday, Sept. 16.
Some customers in Europe are pretty upset about this, according to Eurogamer. Sony had promised to allow pre-loading today, but Sony told customers they would have to wait until Monday – a day before the game launches at retail. Some customers were not pleased by this news.
Some think that the change in download timing via PSN was due to problems with the Day 1 digital pre-order program last month, when some European PSN users were able to download an early version of Grand Theft Auto 5 and began leaking details like the contents of the game's entire soundtrack. Sony later apologized to Rockstar for the mistake.
