If you don't already own a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 and don't mind buying a refurbished used console, then a sale announced by retailer GameStop might be of interest to you. GameStop is cutting the price of its refurbished PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles from October 11 – 24. No doubt it wants to unload some of its older inventory to make room for the next-generation Xbox One and PS4 launching in late November.
From October 11-24, GameStop is offering pre-owned original Xbox 360s for $99.99 ($30 off), a pre-owned Xbox Slim 4GB model for $119.99 (normally priced at $179.99), and all pre-owned PS3s for $149.99 (normally priced at up to $259.99). Customers who purchase any of these gaming systems will receive any pre-owned game of their choice (priced at $19.99) free of charge.
GameStop PowerUp Rewards members will get early access to the promotion (on October 10) and will receive a 30 percent discount on all Xbox 360 and PS3 pre-owned accessories. PowerUp Rewards Pro members will receive an additional 10 percent off their purchases for a total of 40 percent savings, according to GameStop.
GameStop is also offering customers special pricing for a limited time on other pre-owned hardware including a pre-owned Kindle Fire 8GB for $89.99, and a pre-owned iPod Nano Gen 5 starting at $39.99…
