If you have lost characters in Grand Theft Auto Online and were hoping for some magic bullet to fix the problem, then you are out of luck, according to Rockstar Games. The company has confirmed, much to the chagrin of those affected by the glitch that made characters and online rankings disappear last week, that there's no fix for it. Instead they hope that the $500,000 in-game credit stimulus will be enough to satisfy players who have had trouble with the game since it launched on October 1.
"For those asking about their lost characters or rank, those will not be able to be restored so we sincerely hope that this cash stimulus we’re giving out this month will help you get back on your feet or to make your new life in Los Santos & Blaine extra sweet," Rockstar said.
Rockstar also confirmed that a title update for GTA Online will be released next week that should fix more bugs including a bizarre and mildly amusing (depending on whom you ask) vanishing vehicle issue.
"We will remain committed to continuing to fine-tune the game to address any and all issues to get GTA Online running as smooth as possible," Rockstar said.
Finally Rockstar revealed that new content like Heists missions are in the works and on the way.
