Grand Theft Auto Online players antsy to get their in-game stimulus cash will have to wait a little bit longer. Rockstar said it would not release any of the free money until it had fixed a majority of the bugs still plaguing the game. The company said this in response to questions about the delay of the first $250,000 stimulus give out which was supposed to occur sometime this week.
A Rockstar Newswire update notes:
"We hope to have an update for you on that very soon. As others have mentioned here, we of course want to make sure player progress loss issues are addressed before providing everyone with their GTA$500K. Thanks for your patience and please stay tuned."
Rockstar promised to give the stimulus money out in two payments of $250,000 beginning this week. The cash is an apology to players affected by the game's connectivity troubles and technical issues since it launched on Oct. 1. Anyone that has played the online counterpart to Grand Theft Auto V will receive the stimulus money.
Rockstar has not given a definitive timeframe for when it now plans to release the in-game cash payouts but it is likely that it wants to fix all the bugs before November 1 rolls around so it can avoid having to do this cash giveaway to customers who sign up in November. With the holiday shopping season around the corner there will be a lot more GTAO players to deal with by year's end…
