PSA: You Can Preorder PS4 and Xbox One at Walmart

Are you looking to secure a PS4 or Xbox One in time for Christmas?

Well, according to a PR email we just received, Walmart is currently "the only retailer taking online pre-orders for PS4 and XBOX One Standard with a guaranteed ship to customers on December 16."

Point your internet right here to secure one of the new next-gen consoles for that whiny little brat that runs around your house and breaks things.  Surely your little bundle of joy is worth $399 for a PS4 or $499 for an Xbox One?
Additionally, Call of Duty: Ghosts, which officially goes on sale at midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 5, will be available to Walmart customers "in more than 1400 stores across the country beginning at 9 PM Monday November 4th."

Want to play the game early?  Walmart will also be hosting Call of Duty: Ghost tournaments to facilitate such a desire.  You could even win a free copy of Activision's latest military shooter in which that dog is totally going to die.  More information can be found at

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have Wii U games to play.

That might be part of it, but it's mostly due to how Walmart does their console pre-orders.  They use their layaway program, which is only available from the middle of September until December 16th.  As such, the console needs to be paid off by 12/16 or they cancel the order.  If you pay it off before then, it'll ship when it's paid off, or on launch day if you paid it off before launch.

I noticed that too.  I guess this promotion is aimed at parents who just want the damn things before Christmas with as little fuss as possible.
