GOG.com Launches Charity Promotion to Benefit WWF, Gaming for Good, and Worldbuilders

November 5, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

GOG.com is taking part in a fundraising campaign that lets consumers donate a minimum of $5 to one of three charities to get three games. The charities include the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Gaming for Good, and Worldbuilders. The games players can choose from include FTL, Waking Mars, Incredipede, The Whispered World, Driftmoon, PID, Darwinia, Creature's Village, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, and Botanicula.

There's no rule against donating to all three charities, which means that you could pick up nine of the ten games listed above.

Of course, the promotion is about these charities and the good they do. Obviously the World Wildlife Fund spends its donations on protecting endangered animals, while Gaming for Good gives 100 percent of the money it collects to the Save the Children charity, and Worldbuilders supports Heifer International (which helps people in underdeveloped and poor countries raise themselves up out of poverty and starvation through education, sustainable agriculture, and local industry).

You can find out more about GOG's promotion here. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from this promotion go directly to the charity you decide to support.
