Military-related gaming charity Operation Supply Drop passed along an inspirational story this afternoon about a suicide bomb survivor who received a special post-surgery surprise from the group.
A severely injured soldier identified only as "Sean" managed to survive a VBSIED (Vehicle-Borne Suicide Improvised Explosive Device) attack on his gun truck on the Afghan/Pakistan border while supporting Special Forces. Sean, who is currently recovering at Fort Eustis Wounded Transition Center in Virginia from multiple surgeries, reached out to Operation Supply Drop for support.
OSD says that it worked with the hospital and donors to quickly put together a surprise supply drop, code named WHISKEY TANGO, to him in time for him to have it for his long post-surgery recovery. Sean had this to say about the package:
"I received the care package yesterday! I can not say thank you enough! It is more then I could have asked for and it couldn’t have come at a better time! Since I am pretty much stuck at home 24/7 due to my recent surgery, I officially have more than enough to do!! I included some pictures of me with most of my wonderful gifts! Again thank you so much you have no idea what a blessing this is for me!"
