Gearbox Raises $16K for Videogame History Museum

November 12, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

Gearbox Software has managed to raise right around $16,000 for the Videogame History Museum, an institution dedicated to preserving and archiving the history of the video game industry. Gearbox raised the money by selling Gearbox memorabilia such as signed Borderlands 2 'Loot Chests', and unique art pieces from Gearbox concept artists to the public.

The Videogame History Museum ran a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2011, raising $50,000 - well over its goal of $30,000. The museum is a registered non-profit charity, and is currently looking to establish a physical location in the San Jose Silicon Valley area to serve as an interactive education exhibit.
