Read Only Memories has raised a little under half of its Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign goal. The sci-fi themed, old-school stylized adventure game from MidBoss Games has raised $29,395 of its $62,064 goal from 627 backers with 17 more days to go.
The game is described as a cyberpunk point-and-click adventure game set in a future San Francisco (circa 2064) featuring a wide variety of characters that includes all kinds of different characters – straight, gay, lesbian, transgendered folk, etc. MidBoss Games says that the game's design is heavily influenced by the best 90's adventure games such as Sam & Max, Maniac Mansion, Snatcher, and The Secret of Monkey Island.
The developers of Read Only Memories are seeking funds from the community to complete development and test the game on Mac, PC, iOS, Android and Ouya systems. Additional stretch goals are planned, and will enable the team to bring the game to more platforms including Linux, Steam, PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita, and Wii U.

On a related note, MidBoss Games recently released a video for straight folks to show them that, while the game may contain different kinds of characters from all walks of life, it isn't necessarily a "gay game." First and foremost it is a point-and-click adventure homage to old school adventure games. You can check out the video to your left.
