Activision Licensing Deal With Marvel Ends, Digital Titles Disappear

Anyone who has tried to download DLC (or full games) via Xbox Live or PlayStation Network for any older Marvel Comics-licensed properties created by Activision will note that it is no longer available. From Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 all the way to its latest title Deadpool, all Activision's titles (and DLC) are disappearing. The answer for this is simple enough: the publisher's licensing deal with the comic book marketing giant has come to an end, which means that all those old and new game offerings are no longer available.

Deadpool, Activision's most recent Marvel title, has been pulled from download stores on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Other Marvel titles from Activision including Spider-Man, Wolverine and X-Men games are also vanishing from PSN, XBL and Steam.

We'll have more on this story as it develops, but unless Activision renews its deal with Marvel, it's unlikely you'll see them available for purchase on any of the popular digital distribution channels on PC or consoles….

Actvision did delay a Neverwinter Nights 2 Expansion (Westgate) for years because as they said openly at the time
It was looking for the most intrusive DLC.

One would think so, but things like this tend to happen quite consistently – especially on Steam where games have a habit of disappearing from their digital store all the time.
