Poll Results: The Worst Thing When Buying a 3DS at Walmart

In last week's poll we were making fun of Walmart when we asked our readers, "You buy your kid a new 3DS from Walmart. What’s worse?," followed by three options: "Finding porn on it," "Discovering that Walmart sold you a used 3DS as new," or that "You bought something at Walmart."

Around 499 votes were cast, with 47 percent (235 votes) of readers noting that buying something new and finding out later that it was restocked after being returned was the worst of all three choices. Around 36 percent said that "buying something at Walmart" is one of the worst things, while only 16 percent said that finding porn on a 3DS was the worst thing that could happen to you.

Thanks to everyone who voted in last week's poll. The latest episode of Super Podcast Action Committee offers a more in-depth discussion on the poll at the 28 minute mark.

Look for a new poll later this week.

I'm curious, how many votes were in before the shopping at Walmart option was added?  Had it been an option when I voted, I definitely would have gone for it over what I actually chose, buying something new and finding out it's used.  😉

Have you tried using the 3DS to browse for porn? It's really terrible at it, and generally the best you can use it for is erotic literature. You're better off using your smart phone.

Course, not speaking from personal porn finding experience, but general 3DS browser usage. >_> <_< *cough*

If you don't like something I said in a post, don't just hit the dislike, let me know your thoughts! I'm interested in knowing everyone's opinions, even when they don't mesh with my own.

TBH porn isn't the end of the world for any child, and any parent that "avoids" that talk for far to long is avoiding their responsibility. Yeah its an issue (the younger, the more so), but not a huge one.

Now finding you've just been sold an item for full price after its been used/handled… that takes money out of the pocket and food of the table… (so to speak) It is something thats avoidable, and it is a prime reason why companies like wal mart should be monitored a little more closely in their business practices..

I didn't for for it, but I find it understandable that people would make that their biggest concern. I mean its terrible to find porn on a device that you might be giving to your child.
