Playdek's turn-based tactical strategy-RPG Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians has surpassed its funding goal of $600,000 with only a few hours left to go. In a message to backers on its Kickstarter page, the company thanked everyone for their support and promised more details on the game moving forward:

"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!," Playdek wrote. "We reached our goal today! This has been an incredible journey and without all of you this wouldn’t be possible, so thank you!!!"

"You guys are the best and we are so grateful to have you with us on the rest of the journey!!!," the message concluded. "Thank you again so much, and stay tuned because this is only the beginning of our adventure together!"

As of this writing, Unsung Story managed to raise $643,737 from over 15,000 backers with only three hours left to go.

Unsung Story is being developed by Playdek and Japanese developers: Yasumi Matsuno and Akihiko Yoshido. Yoshida is an artist who has worked on such hits as Vagrant Story, Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII, and the recently released Bravely Default. Members of Playdek have worked (collectively) at such studios as THQ, SCEA, Incinerator Games, Rockstar, and Interplay over the years.
