Mojang founder Markus "Notch" Persson has announced that the PC version of Minecraft now has over 100 million registered users. That number represents the number of people who have created free Minecraft accounts – a required step in downloading the Minecraft demo from the official Mojang site.
Persson also said that that the PC version of the game has achieved a "14.3% conversion rate to paid accounts", which comes out to about 14.3 million of those registered users going on to purchase the full game. At the end of December Mojang announced that the game had sold 13 million copies, and said that 14 million copies had been sold by February 3. The PC version of the game became available in November 2011.
Recently the company announced 10 million copies of the Xbox 360 version and one million copies of the PlayStation 3 version had been sold.
Mojang is working on Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita versions of Minecraft to be released later this year.
