GaymerX2 Crowd-Funding Campaign in its Final Stretch

Organizers of last year's first gay gaming and geek culture convention launched a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign in mid-February for GaymerX2. Now with less than 12 hours to go before the crowd-funding campaigns, organizers are trying to hit a final stretch goal of $30,000. Hitting that milestone will allow them to bring on The Super Soul Bros! to play live music during the event. Previous stretch goals included adding an additional $1,500 cash prize to the cosplay contest being held at the event, color programs, and pronoun sticker add-ons for badges.

This year's event is scheduled to take place at the San Francisco InterContinental hotel from July 11 – 13 in San Francisco.

Organizers announced several of the speakers, or "Bosses of Honor" that would attend this year's event. That list includes BioWare's David Gaider (lead writer of Dragon Age series), Gamercamp co-founder and "Meet Grindr" author Jamie Woo, Borderhouse's Mattie Brice, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, IGDA's Gordon Bellamy, SMBC-Comics creator Zach Weiner, sci-fi author John Scalzi , and WWE superstar Fred Rosser (who wrestles under the name Darren Young). Members of Midboss Games, who are developing the point-and-click adventure Read Only Memories, will also be on hand.

As of this writing, the Kickstarter campaign has generated $21,852 with 12 more hours to go.
