Online game maker NCsoft has invested an estimated $4.8 million in South Korean web comics firm Lezhin Entertainment, according to GII.

NCsoft said that the ₩5 billion ($4.8 million USD) investment in Lezhin will offer opportunities to leverage its IP in new ways, and that it will also allow Lezhin to leverage its portfolio of intellectual property for creating interactive entertainment.

"We are looking forward to creating synergy with the best online game company in Korea," said Lezhin CEO Hee Sung Han. "We believe that this opportunity will help vitalize innovative digital storytelling in Korea."

Lezhin Entertainment was founded in June 2013 and earned ₩3.5 billion in revenue in its first ten months as a business. At present, it has more than 900,000 subscribers. The deal will most likely create content between the two companies that is focused more on customers in Asia - specifically South Korea.
