Harmonix Launches Crowd-Funding Campaign for 'Amplitude' Reboot

May 5, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

Rock Band series creator Harmonix has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the reboot of its 2003 rhythm-action game, Amplitude. The goal is to update the cult classic music game for the PS2 to newer Sony systems such as the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The new Amplitude game will feature new high definition visuals, new music, and other surprises to be revealed.

As of this writing, the Kickstarter campaign has raised $71,903 of its $775,000 goal, with 18 more days to go. Oddly enough Harmonix opted to limit the time for this Kickstarter considerably (forgoing the normal 30 days most Kickstarter campaigns run for). So far it has generated around 9 - 10 percent of its goal.

For more information on the Kickstarter, check out the project's Kickstarter page or the pitch video to your left.

Re: Harmonix Launches Crowd-Funding Campaign for 'Amplitude' ...

I find it just a bit odd that they would limit it to just PS3/PS4, considering games on Kickstarter are more well known for PC and multi-platforms.
