John Oliver Explores Same Sex Relationships in the Nintendo Universe

May 19, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

In the latest edition of HBO's Last Week Tonight with John Oliver that aired last night, the comedian and former correspondent to the Daily Show (who also served as fill-in host earlier this year for John Stewart while he filmed a movie) made fun of the situation surrounding Nintendo's stance on same-sex relationships in Tomodachi Life.

During the show, Oliver pondered what the Nintendo universe would be like if various Nintendo characters were allowed to have same-sex marriages. You can check it out to your left.

Last week Nintendo apologized to its fans for not include same-sex relationships in the 3DS life simulator game, noting that in the future it will offer more options to players regarding this issue.

I almost forgot about John's new show. Finally some more potentially good TV to watch. So that's The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Archer, Legit, and now Last Week Tonight. I love being spoilt for choice.

Well, a year yet of Colbert on Comedy Central before he leaves. I still hold out hope that John Oliver returns to CC to take over for Stewart when he eventually retires from the Daily Show.

/admit it, who here was cheering when Peach and Zelda were shown?
