Ubisoft has announced at least four games that it will show off at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles next month (June 10-12), but what's most striking about its line-up is won't it won't be showing.
The company announced that it would be showing Assassin's Creed Unity (PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC), Far Cry 4 ( PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC), Tom Clancy's The Division (PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC), and Valiant Hearts: The Great War (PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC). As you may have noticed, Ubisoft is not showing any Wii U or 3DS games this year. Not one.
The publisher will showcase the games at its booth and during its media briefing at the Orpheum Theatre, which is scheduled for June 9 at 6 p.m. ET and will hosted by actress and comedian Aisha Tyler (Archer, Who's Line Is It Anyway?).
The UPlay lounge will also be returning during E3. This year it will be located at The Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, where more than 1,000 UPlay members will get the opportunity to play the company's E3 lineup well before any of the games are released.
"2014 is the most exciting year the gaming industry has seen in a while," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. "At E3, we can’t wait to share our future of gaming."
Too bad that future doesn't include any Nintendo platforms, but maybe the company will be showcasing something at Nintendo's press conference instead. We'll have to wait until E3 to find out, but things are not looking good for Wii U and 3DS owners.
UPDATE: For what it's worth, Ubisoft Benelux PR and Events Manager Tessa Vilyn suggested on Twitter that the Wii U version of Watch Dogs showing up at E3 was a possibility.
@snowyday2 possibly.. you'll have to find out by watching it ;)— Tessa Vilyn (@UbiTessa) May 23, 2014
