Marathon Gamers Get Ready for 'Summer Marathon of Friendship' 48-Hour Charity Gaming Event

June 6, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

Marathon Gamers, a group of friends who started a modest organization to play games for charity, will be launching its Summer Marathon of Friendship to raise money for the group's local St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The group, who resides in Huntsville, Alabama, will kick off a 48-hour marathon gaming session on June 20th on Twitch.

The tentative plan is to play everything from Left 4 Dead to Mario Party and to raise lots of money for St. Jude's. The event will start on June 20th at 2:00PM CDT.

Those who want to help them out can donate money through the Marathon Gamers website (www.marathongamers.org) or on the TwitchTV channel page which can be found at www.twitch.tv/marathon_gamers. Supporters can use PayPal and ImRaise to give a donation, which goes directly to the St. Jude PayPal account. All donations are also tax deductible.

All donations go to the hospital, and not the group, who have gone out of their way to set up a system where the money is never touched by them at any time.

The 48-hour event can be watched on both the Marathon Gamers' homepage (www.marathongamers.org), and its TwitchTV channel (www.twitch.tv/marathon_gamers).

We urge you to support these fine folks and help raise money for a very worthy cause. They may even take requests if you are interested in seeing them play a specific game. I'd like to see them play some Dark Souls...
