Zynga CEO Earned Over $57 Million This Year

June 13, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

Even though social and mobile game maker Zynga's stock has declined 21 percent in the last six month, that hasn't stopped its new CEO from collecting his heft salary this year. According to this CNBC report, Zynga CEO Don Mattrick earned a total of $57.8 million at Zynga this year.

Mattrick has been working on turning the company's fortunes around as it continues to transition from relying on social networks like its own portal and Facebook to mobile platforms. The information about Mattrick's payout for the year came of an annual shareholders meeting held this week.

Prior to joining Zynga this year, Mattrick worked for Microsoft.  Before that, Electronic Arts.

Well, if we needed any more proof that the CEO compensation system in this country is just as completely out of whack as the patent system, here you go.

I know what a good business decision is.  lets take the #1 revenue sink any development company has and let it cause us to go into the red.  Seriosuly if the shareholders didn't overpay the CEO Zynga would be profitable.

So if my annual salary was an hourly wage, I would need to work till November to even catch up to him.
