Ubisoft's 'Valiant Hearts: The Great War' Will Include World War I Footage

June 20, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

Ubisoft announced that its upcoming World War I adventure game, Valiant Hearts: The Great War, will feature documentary footage. The game's developer Ubisoft Montpellier reportedly worked closely with the creators of the documentary series Apocalypse, World War I in making the adventure game.

Working with the makers of that film allowed the studio to incorporate real photos from the Apocalypse, World War I database into the game's encyclopedia. Historical facts and documents relevant to whatever the player is currently doing in the game were also created through this collaboration.

Apocalypse, World War I was created by French company CC&C and the Canadian firm Ideacom International. The five-part documentary series aired on television in France and Canada earlier this year.
