Providence, Rhode Island-based Roger Williams University is eyeing the former offices of 38 Studios as a future home, according to a report in the Providence Journal.
The university’s board has authorized its administrators at the Bristol university to kick start with Berkeley Investments Inc. for a Providence expansion. The university currently leases space on Washington Street but is seriously considering leasing 76,000 square feet of space at One Empire Plaza from Berkeley.
This particular space was once the home of Curt Schilling's now-bankrupt game development company 38 Studios.
If it can seal a deal, the new campus would open up in 2016 and would replace the current Metro Center location on Washington Street in Providence.
