Ubisoft is attempting to assure fans that the recently revealed micro-transactions in Assassin's Creed: Unity will not change the core gameplay experience. While all the details on these micro-transactions have yet to be revealed, OXM reports that players will be able to pay real money to "hack" items and unlocks instead of earning them by progressing through the game.
"If we think it fits the gameplay, or the brand itself, the core values, we're willing to take those risks. If not, then not," senior producer Vincent Pontbriand said. "We're not going to make any compromises."
"Companion apps, monetization, other business models, digital only... We have to be reactive to these things, but not necessarily fundamentally change what we're trying to do," he added.
We will have more on these micro-transactions as Ubisoft reveals them to the public.
