'Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare' For Free - For a Limited Time

August 15, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

EA announced that it is letting those who have an Origin account play Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare for free for a limited time. For 72 hours you can play EA's and PopCap's' team-based Plants vs. Zombies-themed online shooter via the Origin Game Time program.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare pits a team of plants against squads of zombies in 24-player suburban multiplayer arenas. As you progress through the game and gain victories you unlock all kinds of game elements and characters.

The Game Time version of the game offers new content including a brand new map (Crash Course), a new game mode (Suburbination - a Domination-like “capture the waypoints” challenge), a brand new character and much more.

Find out more here. As is always the case with these promotions from EA, you'll need to have an Origin account and the Origin client installed to play the game. You can also check out Age of Reckoning: Kingdoms of Amular (as of this writing) for a limited time.

If you have to install the garbage that is Origin, then it is not free.

Origin is a bloated piece of shit and an attempt to keep the $60 game model, and nothing more.

It isn't even free in the traditional sense, it's just their version of Steam's "Free Weekend" setup, but without the sale for the game in question.
