Gamescom organizer Koelnmesse revealed that Gamescom 2014 drew an estimated 335,000 people from 88 countries to its annual event in Cologne, Germany last week. The attendance number is slightly less than last year's attendance number: 340,000 people. This year's attendance number included 31,500 regular people and 6,000 members of the press.

Koelnmesse also said that 700 exhibitors from 47 countries showcased their gaming products this year, up from 635 exhibitors in 2013.

"Gamescom is the most important platform for the European computer and video games industry," Koelnmesse CEO Gerald Böse said. "The increase on the exhibitor side, both in terms of the absolute number as well as the international, underscores that Cleary. As organizer of the fair, we are pleased that Gamescom is set as a firm date in the industry."

Gamescom 2015 will be held from August 5-9, 2015 in Cologne, Germany.
