Netflix Fools Around with Custom UI for Oculus Rift

August 22, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

During a recent Hack Day - as chronicled in this blog post - engineers at Netflix mange to design a prototype Oculus Rift user interface for its popular streaming service. The specially designed UI that makes this possible is being called "Oculix" and lets users control the Netflix menu using hand and head gesture controls.

While this is all very interesting, Netflix has not promised to support Oculus Rift; this was more of an experiment to see what it could do with the virtual reality headset.

"While we think these hacks are very cool and fun, they may never become part of the Netflix product," the company says.
