'GX3: Everyone Games' Raises Over Half of its Funding Goal

August 27, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

GX3: Everyone Games has raised over $42,000 of its $80,000 goal on Kickstarter in its first three days, with 22 more days to go. GX3 is the new name for the GaymerX convention - tentatively set for sometime in November or December of 2015 in the Bay Area. The event is an all-inclusive two-day fan gathering offering a safe space for gamers of all creeds and sexual orientations and generally celebrates the culture of gaming.

According to a new update on the Kickstarter page, once the initial funding goal is met, organizers will reveal more details on the location and exact date for the event. As they note, it makes no sense to lay out plans if they don't meet their funding goal.

It should also be noted that, while they are looking to raise an initial $80,000 for GX3, the event will likely cost infinitely more than that amount. This year organizers want to avoid taking a steep loss like they did with GaymerX2.

You can learn more about the event on its Kickstarter page.

If memory serves, the reports were that the organizers were being sunk by wildly expensive venue rates.  Maybe they've found someplace that's a bit less expensive?
