Kinect Stand-Alone Coming in October for $149.99

Earlier this year Microsoft decided to create a SKU that separated its Kinect motion sensing camera device from the Xbox One that sells for $399.99. At that time it said that it would release a stand-alone retail version of the device in the "fall," and did not provide a price point. Today Microsoft has revealed the pricing for the standalone Kinect, and a special Kinect bundle that will launch at the end of this year.

The Kinect stand-alone retail unit for Xbox One will be released on October 7 and will be bundled with Dance Central Spotlight.  The latest in the dance series from developer Harmonix will be a digital download and will feature 10 tracks.

Kinect with Dance Central Spotlight will be available at retailers for $149.99, a similar price point to the original Kinect stand-alone unit sold for Xbox 360.
