UPDATE: Never mind. Nintendo has confirmed that the New 3DS will be region locked.
ORIGINAL STORY: Last week, Nintendo announced a new 3DS with a faster processor, more buttons, a second analog stick, built in NFC, better 3D and a few other features. Nintendo calls it…
The New Nintendo 3DS.
Say, do you like rumors? Here's a fun one!

In other words, rumor has it that the New 3DS will be able to play software from any territory, a luxury Nintendo handheld gamers enjoyed from the original Game Boy to the DS Lite. Ah, those were the days! See a game you like? Buy it! Nintendo would happily take your money.
These days, Nintendo is the only one who still region locks its consoles.
So, what do you think? Nintendo has been making slow but steady strides in a number of areas. Will it abandon the archaic practice of region locking with its new iteration of handheld? Vote in the poll and let us know!
Come back to GamePolitics on Saturday night at 6p PST and watch the live stream of Super Podcast Action Committee. EZK and I will reveal the poll results and discuss this topic along with all the other interesting things that happen this week.
