Second Annual 'LA Cosplay Con' Announced

September 3, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

The second annual LA Cosplay Con returns to the Hyatt Century City Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles on June 13, 2015, event organizer the Crest Group announced today. Tickets are on sale now. LA Cosplay Con is a one-day event for cosplayers and the gaming community to celebrate the art and culture of cosplay through competitions, panels on cosplaying and other interesting topics (like the pros and cons of becoming a "YouTube personality"), gaming events, contests, exhibitor booths, and much, much more.

"We’re very excited and humbled that the first show was met with such acceptance from the community that we’re able to produce this second event," said Heather Ellertson, organizer of LA Cosplay Con. "I've been in the Interactive Entertainment Industry for over 16 years, and the amount of energy and commitment that these cosplayers have is inspiring! These individuals that come out are not merely costuming, but show that their work and passion truly is a form of art. They are really wonderful to work with and the community is something we feel very strongly about supporting."

For the 2015 event, organizers of the LA Cosplay Con will team up with The "Geekie Awards" to host a panel called, "The 2015 Geekie Awards Presents: Cosplay and Costume Design - From Hobby to Career!"

"I'm thrilled to be working with LA Cosplay Con next year, as we integrate cosplayers into our live show every year. We thought this was a great way to show this community that we believe in what they do and share the same insights for this industry regarding making a successful business out of your passion," said Kristen Nedopak, Executive Producer and Showrunner of The Geekie Awards.
