The next generation versions of Mojang's popular world building game Minecraft are finally launching this week in the U.S., UK, and Europe. The first version of the game to be released is for the PlayStation 4 – after the game failed the certification process last month. Tomorrow the Xbox One version of the game will be released. Both are digital downloads, with retail releases promised at a later date to be determined.
The PS4 version is available now on the PlayStation Store for £17.99 / €18.99 / $19.99. Those who already own the game on the PS3 can get an "upgrade" discount, bringing the price down to £2.99 / €3.99 / $4.99. The Xbox One version offers a similar upgrade scheme.
No doubt these new releases will help drive the game's sales to new and incredible heights. Minecraft is available for multiple platforms including Xbox 360, PS3, PC, mobile devices, and more already.
