Bethesda Software has an update on its official blog detailing all of its grand plans for this year's Extra Life charity marathon. While the company has long supported Extra Life, it has decided to create its own dedicated page this year - complete with a schedule of games it plans to play and stream, and some interesting prizes that donators can win.

Mike Maulbeck Resigns From Code Avarice

Developer Mike Maulbeck, one of the guys behind Paranautical Activity, has announced his resignation from indie studio Code Avarice. For a short time yesterday, Paranautical Activity was available on Steam, but appeared as an Early Access title - even though the game had just come out of its early access phase of development. When the game was listed as "early access" on the front page of the Steam Store, Mualbeck got upset on Twitter and threatened to kill Valve founder Gabe Newell.

Valve pulled the game after learning about the tweets.

London Mayor Slams UK TTIP Protestors

London Mayor Boris Johnson has called those critical of the US-EU trade deal (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership) "numskulls" and "left-wingers." In his regular column in The Telegraph, Johnson described the protest in the UK over TTIP as spreading panic and fear. His focus is mainly on critics of the trade agreement that are worried about the "irreversible privatization" of England's national healthcare system.

Evolution: Still No ETA On PlayStation Plus Version of 'DriveClub'

Evolution Studios still doesn't have an ETA on the free version of its game DriveClub for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The free version of the game for those that pay a monthly stipend to Sony for PlayStation Plus was supposed to launch alongside the retail and digital versions of the game, but online launch troubles forced the studio to hold off on it.

But even as things are starting to smooth out with online play, Evolution says that it does not yet have a concrete launch date for the PS Plus version:

'Dark Souls' Players Will Be Able To Transfer Game Data From GFWL To Steamworks In November

It looks like From Software and Bandai Namco are finally going to ditch Games For Windows Live. After saying earlier in the year that they were going to stick with the multiplayer matchmaking system for PC games from Microsoft, From Software says that it will allow gamers to transfer over their Dark Souls characters, progress, and Achievements to their Steam accounts later this year. GFWL rankings will not be transferred over.

Fundraiser for Fallen Gamer Raises Over $9K

A fundraiser for fallen FGC member and pro Killer Instinct player Terrance “PushaTee88” Moore has raised over $9,000 to pay for his funeral expenses and help his family. Killer Instinct player and Fighting Game Community (FGC) member Terrance “PushaTee88” Moore collapsed on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 16 while participating in Super Arcade’s The Runback weekly tournament.

'Paranautical Activity' Developer Threatens Gabe Newell, Gets Game Pulled From Steam

Paranautical Activity developer Mike Maulbeck was upset that his game made the front page of the Steam store labeled as an "early access" title yesterday. It is not an early access game, and so as some like to do, he took to social media to vent in a series of tweets. But as his tweets came out in rapid succession, Maulbeck said something he later regretted - he threatened Valve founder Gabe Newell's life.

Microsoft: 60 Million Halo Titles Sold To-Date

Microsoft says that it has sold more than 60 million Halo titles worldwide since the franchise debuted on the original Xbox thirteen years ago - Halo: Combat Evolved. This number is up substantially from the 50 million sold milestone announced in December of 2012.

That massive figure includes Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo Wars, Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. Microsoft also claims that gamers have played various Halo titles for more than 6 billion hours on Xbox Live over the years.

UK Wants to Add Stricter Penalties to Cyberbullying Laws

UK Justice secretary Chris Grayling has put forth a proposal that would add serious punishment for anyone convicted of online abuse. Currently, those convicted of cyber bullying crimes - using sexually offensive, verbally abusive or threatening material online - can only be imprisoned for a maximum of six months in the UK courts. If Grayling has his way that penalty would be quadrupled to a maximum of two years.

'Depression Quest' Developer Zoe Quinn Gives First TV Interview to MSNBC

Introduced by MSNBC host Ronan Farrow as "the woman who sparked 'GamerGate,'" Depression Quest developer Zoe Quinn gives her first television interview since the whole online ordeal kicked off back in late August.

Jade Raymond Exits Ubisoft

Ubisoft announced today that Jade Raymond is leaving the company's Toronto studio to pursue "future opportunities separately." Alexandre Parizeau will take on Raymond's former role as managing director of the studio on October 29.

Jade Raymond has spent ten years working at Ubisoft, where she served as the producer on Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed II, Watch Dogs, and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist. She also opened the Ubisoft Toronto studio and served as its managing director from 2009 to the present.

While Hollywood (or rather, those in Hollywood suing him) will be given access to his financial information, the public will not be provided with this information.
