Microsoft's Games With Gold free game give-away program for Xbox Live Gold subscribers will offer a total of four games this month.
Xbox One owners with an active Xbox Live Gold account in good standing will get The Deer God from September 1 - 30, alongside Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition from September 16 - October 15.
Xbox 360 owners with an active Xbox Live Gold account in good standing will get Battlestations Pacific from September 1 - 15. After that the game will disappear and be replaced by Crysis 3 from September 16 - 30.
September's freebies for subscribers of PlayStation Plus have been revealed by Sony today. Beginning September 1 (next Tuesday) PS Plus subscribers can download and play Ubisoft's Grow Home on PS4, along with Super Time Force Ultra on PS4 and Vita.
Renegade Kid's sci-fi adventure Xeodrifter will also will also be available for PS4 and PS Vita. Teslagrad for PS4 and PS3, La-Mulana EX PS Vita, and Twisted Metal for PS3 will also be available.

n-Space and Digital Extremes announced that Sword Coast Legends has been delayed until September 9. The game, which was announced in February of this year - to the surprise of many RPG fans and PC gamers - is a "Neverwinter Nights-style," AD&D officially licensed CRPG for the PC, Linux and Mac. The game will be released at a later date in 2015 for Xbox One and PS4 as well.
Microsoft announced today on Xbox.com that those who purchase Gears of War: Ultimate Edition for Xbox One will get access to backwards compatible versions of Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment. Anyone who buys and plays Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox Live between Aug. 25 and Dec. 31, 2015 will get access to the aforementioned games when they launch this fall on Xbox One.

Dundee, Scotland-based indie developer Serious Parody has issued a public apology for the state of its PS3 wrestling game 5 Star Wrestling and has promised customers who bought the game free downloadable content to make up for it. 5 Star Wrestling was released on PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 on March 19, and has suffered from a number of technical issues and bugs since then.

No Pineapple Left Behind makers Subaltern Games has released a free board game based on the Jade Helm 15 military exercise taking place today in Texas.

This weekend only, game distribution platform IndieGameStand is giving away the 2013 stealth action adventure game Path of Shadows for free.
The game is described as third-person stealth action game inspired by such games as Tenchu, Metal Gear Solid, the original Splinter Cell games, and new games like Dishonored and Mark of the Ninja. The art style is also "heavily inspired by the beautiful Okami, Journey and Sly Cooper."
A special beta for the Windows 10 version of Minecraft will be launched on July 29, Mojang announced at its Minecon event in London over the weekend. The beta for the Windows 10 enhanced version of the game will be launched alongside the operating system which is set to be given away for free worldwide on July 29.

Developer No Bull Intentions feels bad for people that bought the PC / Steam versions of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's Batman: Arkham Knight. The game on PC was released last week but has suffered from a number of technical issues, hardware incompatibility problems, and bugs. No Bull Intentions feels so bad that it has offered to give the first three episodes of its super hero themed Supreme League of Patriots out for free - even if you've gotten a refund for Arkham Knight already.
In a not-so-subtle dig at Bungie, online shooter Warframe is now offering small features that Destiny players often have to pay extra for. Developer Digital Extremes has added four emotes to its third-person shooter for the tidy sum of $0.00.
The new emotes, which you can check out in action here, are a "shrug," a "clap," the "Eclipse Narta," and the "Fathom Narta."

Microsoft's Larry Hryb put out a gentle reminder that if you buy the Xbox One this week, you'll get a free game to go along with it. At E3 Microsoft announced that the $349 price drop for the Xbox One Kinect-free 500 GB would be permanent. They also announced a new Xbox One with a 1 TB hard drive and redesigned controller. Next week BioWare will release free multiplayer Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC called "Dragonslayer." The downloadable content will include three new characters, add a new location, and a whole lot more. The three new characters, according to BioWare, are:
Skywatcher, a fierce Avvar warrior from the Fallow Mire; Zither the Virtuoso, a washed out rock bard; and Isabela, Raider Queen of the Eastern Seas.
Dragonslayer also add a new location called Ferelden Castle.
