Wii U owners can download Disney Infinity for free via the Nintendo eShop. Of course you'll still have to buy at least one Infinity figure and the game base that reads those figures into the game, at retail. The downloadable version of Disney Infinity for Wii U on the Nintendo eShop features the full game, multiplayer support, and Toy Box level design tools that work with the Wii U GamePad.

Play 'Titanfall' on PC For Free

Titanfall is available for free for a limited time on PC as part of EA's Origin Game Time promotion. Obviously you'll need to be an Origin member and have the client installed in order to play it. Those interested in playing Titanfall simply have to add the game to their Origin game library and download it.

The free play event for Respawn's online-focused, future-leaning first-person shooter will only last for 48 hours.

Those interested in purchasing the game after the free trial period ends can do so and continue their progress from the trial.

Play 'Dishonored' For Free on Steam and Xbox Live

In addition to Arkane Studios' hit game Dishonored being available for free on Xbox Live for Xbox 360 until the end of the month, it is also available for free play on Steam all weekend. Borderlands 2 is also available during the weekend as a free play game.

The first-person stealth action game is playable for free until Sunday at 1pm Pacific Time (4pm Eastern Time). During that same period, you can buy the game for 75 percent off its regular price. The regular version will cost you $5, while the Game of the Year version is $10.19.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare pits a team of plants against squads of zombies in 24-player suburban multiplayer arenas. As you progress through the game and gain victories you unlock all kinds of game elements and characters.

'Depression Quest' Now Available on Steam

Available for free, Depression Quest is the creation of Zoe Quinn. Games With Gold Freebies for August Revealed

Microsoft has announced which games it will be giving away for free on Xbox One and Xbox 360 as part of its Games With Gold program. Starting August 1 and running until the 15th, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can download Motocross Madness for free, while Xbox One owners can grab Crimson Dragon and Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut for the entire month.

On August 15, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can download Bethesda's hit stealthy action game, Dishonored for free. They will have until August 31 to grab the game.

July's 'Games With Gold' Titles Revealed

Microsoft has revealed the Xbox One and Xbox 360 'Games With Gold' titles that will be free to Xbox Live Gold subscribers in July. Starting Tuesday, July 1, Xbox One players will be able to download Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition, replacing June's Halo: Spartan Assault. Max: The Curse of Brotherhood will remain free for another month for Xbox One users.

Xbox 360 owners will get Gotham City Imposters will be available from July 1 until July 15. On July 16 it will be replaced with BattleBlock Theater, which will be free until July 31.

The Xbox 360 version of Dark Souls is now free to download for Xbox Live Gold subscribers as part of Microsoft's Games with Gold monthly deal. Weighing in at around 3.81 GB, the game normally sells for $19.99 on Microsoft's digital marketplace, Games on Demand. Dark Souls is a hardcore, unforgiving action RPG, and the successor to the popular sequel Dark Souls II.

Other Xbox 360 free to download this month as part of Games with Gold will also include free Charlie Murder and Super Street Fighter IV downloads starting on June 16.

Sony to Offer Six Games a Month to PS Plus Subscribers Beginning in July

Sony is upping the ante by announcing that, starting in July, PS Plus subscribers (divided up amongst PS3, PS4, and PS Vita) will get two titles per platform on the first Tuesday of each month in North America and the first Wednesday every month in Europe. Microsoft's Games With Gold program will give Xbox Live Gold subscribers two more free games in May. From May 1 up until May 15, gamers can download Dust: An Elysian Tail for free. Originally released on Xbox Live Arcade in August 2012, Dust is a hand-painted style RPG adventure created by indie developer Humble Hearts.

Dust will be replaced on May 16 with Saints Row: The Third, the adult themed action comedy game originally released in November 2011.

Microsoft's second game in the Xbox Live Games With Gold free game giveaway promotion for the month of April is Deadlight. From now until the end of April Xbox Live Gold subscribers can download and keep the game free of charge.

Deadlight is a 2012 side scrolling survival horror/cinematic platforming game for Xbox 360 and Windows developed by Tequila Works and published by Microsoft. Deadlight is rated "M" for "Mature" by the ESRB.

Earlier in the month Hitman: Absolution was free as part of the program.

Electronic Arts has launched a new promotion similar to Microsoft's Games With Gold for Xbox Live. The new promotion is called "On The House," and gives away a free game from time to time. The only catch is that you have to be a registered user of the company's Origin digital distribution platform.

"We're gamers, too," EA said. "We appreciate you making Origin your gaming home... and besides, who doesn't like free stuff?"

The first game available to consumers for free is the horror action survival game Dead Space.
