June 27, 2013 -

The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog has apologized to consumers for accidently including sex chat line numbers in the game. At a certain point in the game co-star Joel encounters a bulletin board with two phone numbers for a ‘pest control’ service. A Kotaku reader thought it would be funny to dial them. Both were actually sex chat lines.

Play NSA Leaker Edward Snowden in New Parody Game

June 27, 2013 -

A new web game called "Snowden's Leaks: The Game" (starring Edward Snowden and President Obama) lets players take the man who leaked information about the NSA's spying activities (PRISM and mobile phone data collection) for a spin as he fills up USB drives with secret data while avoiding NSA agents and security cameras using distractions like doughnuts and hiding places like behind the American flag.

Tap It: NSA Slow Jam

June 14, 2013 -

Libertarian publication Reason has a new song from resident parody prodigy Remy about the NSA's mobile phone surveillance program called "Tap It: The NSA Slow Jam." The song makes fun of the NSA's PRISM program and its practice of collecting Americans' mobile phone meta-data that was leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

The best line in the song, in my opinion:

"Text yourself about it, let us know how you feel."

You can find the lyrics here.

Edward Snowden - Deleted Scenes of NSA Security Video Interview

June 14, 2013 -

While America debates whether former NSA contractor Edward Snowden is a traitor or a hero for leaking classified information related to the NSA's alleged "PRISM" internet surveillance program or analyzing the data from Americans' mobile phones, some people are busy trying to make us laugh about the whole situation. One of those people is comedian Steve Hofstetter, who has created parody video of the "deleted scenes" from The Guardian interview with Snowden.

Lewis Black on Xbox One and Google Glass

June 13, 2013 -

In the latest edition of "Back in Black" on Comedy Central's The Daily Show, comedian Lewis Black offers his unique perspective on the latest technology including Xbox One, Google Glass, Kinect and even a robot that can tell when you want it to serve you a beer. Black criticizes Google for blocking porn on Google Glass and gives Microsoft a one finger salute for how much Kinect tracks you when you are using it.

It's certainly a harsher take on the technology than we're used to, but comedy is sometimes a contact sport.

How to Share Games on PS4

June 11, 2013 -

If Sony's jabs at Microsoft at its E3 2013 press conference don't irritate executives in Redmond, Washington tonight then this hilarious video from Sony will. In it, two Sony Computer Entertainment executives demonstrate how you share games on the PlayStation 4 in one simple step. Sharing on the Xbox One is a bit more complicated...

Ouch.

Andrew Eisen Video: Interactive Fish

May 28, 2013 -

Is Call of Duty: Ghosts really that innovative? In Andrew Eisen's latest video he points out that a certain feature touted during the Xbox One press conference last week has been around since... 1996. Check out the video to your left. At least having a canine companion is new. Oh wait... maybe not...

Sony Bringing Public Restroom Management Game to PS Vita

May 21, 2013 -

Sony has released a trailer for a new PS Vita game that lets you be a men's room attendant called "Men's Room Mayhem." In the game - coming to the PS Vita "soon" - players direct patrons to stalls and urinals, keep the men's room sparkling clean, break up fights that might occur, and deal with other situations that apparently crop up in public bathrooms all over the world. The game avoids some of the other more unseemly things that happens in public restrooms, thankfully.

Let's (try to) Play SimCity

March 11, 2013 -

Andrew Eisen plays a little game called Let's Try to Connect to SimCity and Play the Game. It's a game that was sweeping the nation this week, but unlike the hula-hoop or baseball, this week's American pastime was not that much fun. Check out Andrew's reenactment of what a typical SimCity player probably went through this week.

Drones! What are they good for?

February 27, 2013 -

This amusing video takes something Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer said on Fox News about a year ago related to the government's use of drones for domestic surveillance within the borders of the United States by showing him how it could be done in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The video is the product of the fine folks at Coffee with Games (which incidentally are two of my favorite things).

This video from the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) is priceless, even if you don't agree with its premise on morality and honesty. There's even a small bit about file-sharing in there. Enjoy it - it was unearthed by occasional "video games aren't art" film critic Roger Ebert.

Indie Developers Propose a 'Plane Jam' En Route to GDC

February 12, 2013 -

Develop reports that UK-based indie developers Byron Atkinson-Jones and Andrew Roper have a novel way for game developers to pass the time while flying to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March: create a game! They are challenging themselves and other developers to make a game on their flight to GDC with a special "Plane Jam." The only hard rule is that the game must be created during your flight to GDC.

Ubisoft Delays Rayman Legends For the Good of All Gamers

February 11, 2013 -

Look! It's a new video with Andrew Eisen complaining about something. There's no keeping this guy satisfied! Not only is he upset with the delay of Rayman Legends for all platforms (hey, wasn't this supposed to be a Wii U exclusive?), but he also wants to make us listen to him complaining about it. I'm sure he uses some kind of rapier wit to describe his current angst against Ubisoft (usually he'd be complaining about U Play or "always on" DRM), but will it make his message palatable enough for us to listen? The jury is still out.

Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Game Picks on SWTOR's 'Gay Planet'

January 16, 2013 -

After announcing that it would launch a planet in Star Wars: The Old Republic where players could engage in same sex relationships with NPC's, the gaming community's reaction has been mixed.  The new planet, Makeb, will be launched as part of the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion pack to be released later this year.

But the LGBT community is not happy with the relationships being isolated on one planet or the fact that they will have to buy an expansion pack in order to use it. Some are calling this little wrinkle "pay-to-gay."

Andrew Eisen Video: 'You're Probably an A$$h*le'

December 14, 2012 -

Andrew Eisen's latest video is probably not safe for work, school, or your local church group, but it raises an interesting point about who among the human race might be categorized as a$$h*les.

From DRM to piracy and attitudes about the holidays, Andrew lays it all down in the simplest terms and with the most colorful language he has used to date. You can check out his latest video on his YouTube channel or to your left.

Elderly People Respond to Call of Duty: Black Ops II Trailer

November 5, 2012 -

YouTube sensation The Fine Brothers Productions offers a nifty new video featuring a group of elderly people watching and reacting to the new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops II. While some of the "seasoned" participants seemed close minded about the idea of children (teens) or adults playing such a violent first-person shooter (one person said it could train people to kill) there are a few bright spots of commentary on the usefulness of violent video games as a teaching tool.

Super Podcast Action Committee - Episode 26

October 29, 2012 -

In Episode 26 of the Super Podcast Action Committee hosts Andrew Eisen and E. Zachary Knight celebrate Halloween with tales of horror about bugs and glitches in video games, offer their opinions on Activision editing a Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer map because of complaints from the community, and share several true ghost stories. It's spookier and creepier (or hotter depending on your perspective) than Mitt Romney making out with President Barack Obama and Gary Johnson in the balcony of a seedy New York City movie theater!

E. Zachary KnightI managed to wrangle a refund out of Sony for the broken texture pack. But for actual issues with texture packs, they referred me to Mojang. When I asked mojang about it, they referred me to Sony.04/01/2015 - 7:16am
Andrew EisenHuh?04/01/2015 - 2:42am
Matthew Wilson@AE I think the first dragon age did it the best. the person you played was treated differently based class, race, and gender. if the npc are going to act like 2015, you should just set the game in 2015 and add magic and dragons.04/01/2015 - 1:23am
E. Zachary KnightYeah, the PS3. My son paid for the Steampunk Texture Pack and it would not work at all. No matter what I did, it wouldn't allow us to save.03/31/2015 - 10:56pm

Andrew EisenI think TT Games gets away with multiple LEGO games a year because they're all based on different franchises. If there were two or three LEGO Star Wars games every year, I think people would feel the same fatigue as they do with Assassin's Creed.03/31/2015 - 6:40pm
Andrew EisenIn other words, a hero is male because that's the default. A hero is female because of a gender-related reason. So, male heroes are for everyone. Female heroes are for women.03/31/2015 - 5:32pm
Andrew EisenHer point is that "When archetypal fantasy heroes in games are overwhelmingly portrayed as men, it reinforces the idea that... women should be able to empathize with male characters but that men needn’t be able to identify with women’s stories."03/31/2015 - 5:30pm
Andrew EisenDaniel - She doesn't say that in any of the TvW videos and I doubt she's said elsewhere that all games with male protagonists are male power fantasies. Anyway, you seem to be conflating two different ideas.03/31/2015 - 5:30pm

WymorenceFor me it just boils down to the fact that, even at a giant company, when a game comes out annually it just gives it a vibe of being rushed out the door. And god knows Unity sucked some major lemur with all its bugs...03/31/2015 - 4:22pm

Sora-ChanCon't. Games like AC are a pain to someone like me who likes to play games in order. So when a game gets too many releases too quickly, it puts me off. Only exceptions are games that have no interconnected underlying stories like the FF games.03/31/2015 - 2:53pm
