'Prescription Pixel' offers a space for gamers to talk about mental health issues

This Kotaku Australia article highlights a new web site dedicated to creating a safe space for people who like gaming and want to discuss mental health issues called Prescription Pixel. Speaking to Kotaku Australia, founder "Jennifer" (described as a YouTube broadcaster and a psychologist in her day job) says the site is meant to serve as an important resource to gamers who might find themselves isolated, feeling alone and depressed.

Ninja's Theory's 'Hellblade' tackles mental health issues

Along with the very first glimpse at the new game Hellblade, developer Ninja Theory revealed that its "mysterious historical adventure" coming to PlayStation 4 and PC will feature a storyline that focuses on mental health issues.

Hellblade's story focuses on the mental health of protagonist Senua, a Celtic warrior traumatized by Viking invaders. Ninja Theory says that mental state is a central part of the story and even the gameplay because Senua has to battle "physical manifestations" of her mental illness during the course of the game.

More details emerge in Rachel Bryk's death

On April 23 Rachel jumped from the George Washington Bridge (the bridge that connects New York City to New Jersey) to the icy water below.

The one-hour talk is part of this year's "advocacy" track, and offers some perspective on issues related to depression in the workplace and how both employees and employers can best deal with it.
