The Saucy Night-Life of San Francisco Targets GDC Attendees

March 2, 2015 - James Fudge

We all get that sex sells, but there's a reason that parties involving strippers and other male-focused titillation might be looked down upon in this day and age. After all it's no longer the 1990s and people expect party organizers to show some sensitivity to the growing number of women that attend game industry trade events like the Game Developers Conference.

Grand Theft Auto V's First-Person Sex With a Prostitute

November 18, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

There's a mild brouhaha today over the new first-person mode in Grand Theft Auto V (PC, Xbox One and PS4). Highlighted by several articles from non-gaming outlets (of course!), they point out that you can have sex with a prostitute in a more realistic way and then kill her from a first person perspective. While this new perspective might be considered slightly more realistic than GTA V in third-person it's less sexually explicit than, say a sex scene from a mature rated TV show on ABC like How to Get Away With Murder (that's some pretty steamy stuff!).

A Game Jam About Boobs

August 1, 2013 -

Boob Jam, a developer game jam inspired by journalist Jenn Frank, hopes to create games that take the focus away from breasts as sexual objects, and put it on the challenges (and importance) of women having them.

From Frank's tweet people began talking about breasts beyond jiggle physics and as sexual objects. This led to a novel idea: why not create a game jam that can explore breasts in a non-sexual way?

And so this Tumblr came to life proposing just that.
