'Grand Theft Auto V' Reaches 45 Million Sales Milestone

Last night Take-Two Interactive revealed that - to no one's surprise - that wholly owned studio Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V has now reached 45 million unit sales since its launch. Take-Two also revealed that around 10 million of those sales come from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sales, with the rest coming from the last generation PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC version is currently in development and is set for a release in March after a delay in January.

2K Games Announces 'The Handsome Jack Collection'

2K Games has announced The Handsome Jack Collection, a compilation package that includes two Borderlands games remastered for the Xbox One and PS4. Hitting retail March 24, The Handsome Jack Collection includes Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Prequel and all the DLC from both games' Season Passes. Both of the games have been remastered in high definition for the PS4 and Xbox One and also offer the ability to transfer saves from both games from your PS3 to your PS4 and Xbox 360 to your Xbox One.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has expressed deep disappointment in Target Australia's decision to pull Grad Theft Auto V from its store shelves after an online petition specifically targeted the retailer over stocking the game. That petition on Change.org called for the retailer to pull the game over first-person interactions with sex workers (mostly viewed from YouTube videos showing sex with a prostitute followed by a murder in first-person view).

Take-Two Sells 34 Million Copies of 'GTA V'

As part of his company's Q2 FY2015 earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed that Grand Theft Auto V has sold 34 million copies worldwide since its launch late last year. Those figures represent sales on the Xbox 360 and PS3 since late last year. Zelnick went on to say that these numbers are good because the company has not reached full saturation in all markets. The game is set for launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Rockstar Calls Lindsay Lohan's GTA V Lawsuit 'Frivolous'

Grand Theft Auto V maker Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive responded to Lindsay Lohan's lawsuit in a Manhattan Court filing on Tuesday. The companies said in their response to Lohan's lawsuit that the Hollywood star "filed [the lawsuit] for publicity purposes." They also called the lawsuit frivolous.

They are asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit and for Lohan to pay its legal fees.

Take-Two Records Small Loss in Q1 2015

Take-Two posted a net revenue of $125.4 million in the first quarter of its 2015 fiscal year, down 12 percent compared to the $142.7 million recorded for the same period a year ago. The company's net loss shrank by nearly 43 percent to $35.4 million, down from $61.9 million last year.

NBA 2K14, Grand Theft Auto V, Grand Theft Auto Online, and Borderlands 2 drove revenue for the quarter.

Irrational Games to Close After BioShock Infinite DLC is Released

Take-Two Files Complaint With WIPO Over GTA V Domain

Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive filed a complaint this week with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) seeking to claim the domain GTAV.com. The domain name is currently registered to a Spanish resident and listed as "for sale." While the domain name currently redirects users to the official Grand Theft Auto V website, in February it sent users to a blog about the game.

Take-Two has filed more over 24 disputes against websites related to GTA V - including one that promised access to a beta test of the game (gta5betacode.com).

Take-Two Reports a Net Loss of $31.2 Million for Fiscal Year

For the fiscal year that ended on March 31, publisher Take-Two recorded a loss of $31.2 million on revenue of approximately $1.2 billion, the company announced last night. For the fourth quarter, the company raked in revenue of of $299.5 million, up from $148.1 million from the same period a year ago. Net income for the quarter was $21.2 million, up from a net loss of $66 million from the same period a year ago.

Report: Take-Two Secures WWE License, Plans First Release This Fall

ESPN is reporting that Take-Two Interactive has signed an exclusive five-year deal with World Wrestling Entertainment to create and publish WWE-based wrestling games. The new WWE-based games will fall under the name "WWE 2K," with the first game to be released this fall as WWE 2K14, reports ESPN. Take-Two and the WWE have not made an official announcement about this deal yet.
