Ubisoft signs on as a sponsor for 'GX3: Everyone Games' event

Organizers of the GX3: Everyone Games event have announced that publisher Ubisoft has signed on as "64-bit sponsor." GX3 takes place December 11-13, 2015 at the San Jose Marriott, in downtown San Jose. The event is an adults-only (18-years-old minimum) gathering designed to offer a welcoming space to celebrate geek and gaming culture. Previous GaymerX events have focused on LGBTQ+ friendliness, but organizers are emphasizing that its December event is all inclusive and that everyone is welcomed.

Ubisoft Montreal develops game to help treat Amblyopia

Ubisoft Montreal is developing a video game that can help people who suffer from "lazy eye," or Amblyopia. Around three percent of Canadians and three percent of Americans suffer from Amblyopia, according to Prevent Blindness.  Amblyopia is a condition where one eye is stronger than the other.

The studio, better known for developing the Assassin's Creed and Far Cry series, is working with Simon Clavagnier, a researcher from McGill University, and U.S.-based medical software company Amblyotech.

Ubisoft Reports Solid Q3 Earnings

Ubisoft Begins Reinstating Game Codes on Origin

After deactivating codes for some of its games on Origin last month sold by code resellers, Ubisoft has begun reinstating many of them - much to the delight of those who bought the codes. The codes were sold by third-party resellers such as Kinguin, who Ubisoft claimed bought them in bulk with stolen credit cards.

Yesterday we reported that Ubisoft was deactivating codes bought at code resellers for use on digital distribution platforms like Steam and EA's Origin. Well, the reason that the publisher is doing this is because - it claims - these codes were bought with fraudulent or stolen credit cards. Consumers who bought codes for games like Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Unity were not happy when Ubisoft did this for obvious reasons.

Ubisoft Takes Heat for Deactivating Game Keys Over The Weekend

Ubisoft is cracking down on game key resellers like Kinguin and G2Play by deactivating the keys they have sold to customers. Over the weekend Ubisoft began deactivating the keys to games like Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed: Unity bought from these cheaper resellers. Customers who bought games at these sites took to the Ubisoft forums to complain about their games disappearing from their libraries.

Free 'Assassin's Creed Unity: Dead Kings' DLC Released

The promised free DLC for Assassin's Creed Unity has been released for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. The Dead Kings DLC is a peace offering and apology of sorts from Ubisoft in the wake of the game's less than optimal launch and myriad of bugs, glitches, and technical issues that tested the patience of even the most loyal of AC fans. Ubisoft also gave away a free game and refunded money to those who paid for a Season Pass for DLC. The Season Pass was abandoned in the wake of all the problems with the game.

Registration Opens for Ubisoft Graduate Program

Xbox One Version of 'Assassin's Creed Unity' Requires 40 GB Download With Latest Update

Ubisoft Offers Workaround for 'Assassin's Creed Unity' Crash Bug

Ubisoft says that it is "working hard" to wipe out some of the numerous bugs and glitches still plaguing Assassin's Creed Unity - most notably one that causes the game to crash. In a post on the Unity Live Updates page, Ubisoft noted that the crash issue affects all versions of the game and is apparently triggered at the main menu after players press the Continue button. Ubisoft says it is "working hard" on a final fix for this serious issue, but has provided a short term work-around for players.

Ubisoft: Nine Million Copies of 'Watch Dogs' Shipped

Ubisoft announced today that it has shipped (or "sold in") more than nine million copies of its hacking-themed action game Watch Dog since it launched. The news was part of the French publisher's latest financial report. Two-thirds of total Watch Dogs sales (to retailers) came from the Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions, according to the company.
