Where Politics And Video Games Collide

I have no idea what the definition of "liberal" or "conservative" is anymore. Personally I lean to the left more than most people I know, where I do think that the state should have control over certain things (like utilities and public health services, but that's another story). But any time I hear a democrat on tv going on about censorship for protection, or increased restrictions on gun sales, or anything that unnecessarily restricts individual rights, I have an urge to hit something. Stupid worthless party...

I was brought up thinking that Liberalism had to do with upholding individual rights, but needing the state to ensure that no one's rights are trampled. But, frankly, do so-called liberals with power ever do that anymore? Once you tell people what rights aren't allowed for their own good, you fail. So that definition's either dead, or there are just no real liberals anymore.

I'd say that almost all politicians with any power are Communitarians these days, whatever -wing they belong to. There's no way GP is in support of that philosophy.

I'm pretty sure neoconservatism has moved the political spectrum so far to the right, that any libertarians are gonna look like left of center, however conservative they also are.
