That's for now, but as I said, it is controlled server-side, so the publisher can change his minds at any time.
Just see Steam : it is supposed to work on any computer. But some people who bought some of their games overseas, and which were activated and working perfectly, were one day disabled by Valve : region-locking was retroactively enforced.
And by the way, Bioshock is distributed through Steam yet it suffer the same max number of installs limit than the retail box.
And if, for whatever reason, the activation servers are down, you are out of luck.
And the activation/hardware-tying system of Stardock is independent of Stardock Central (although SDC can launch it so it's more transparent to the user), don't mix up the two.
I don't mind a publisher using any DRM he wants, but what really pisses me off is the way they hide what they are doing, especially behind anti-DRM speeches.
